MISSION STATEMENT
The Usher’s primary mission is to SERVE. Their goal is to exemplify Christ and their Church through their service. Ushers serve the Lord by recognizing their spiritual gifts, and enthusiastically investing them into the ministry of the Church. They believe, "A true servant is loyal and obedient to the Master – even when it’s not convenient."
Ushers Ministry mission is to meet and greet all who enter the sanctuary for service with a warm smile. While doing this the usher will ensure that each member and visitor receives the church bulletin and all necessary envelops.
PURPOSE
An usher is one who serves as an official doorkeeper; therefore, ushers escort disciples and guests to their seats as well as assist with any needs during the worship service. An usher is usually the first or second point of contact when someone enters the church, so it is important that all are greeted in love and with a “HOLY” smile. Since ushers give the first impression of their Pastor and Church family, they work especially hard to make sure that everyone feels welcome and at home.
Ushers will carry out the offertory as directed. The Usher’s duty is to attend and assist all members and visitors with seating and to ensure their comfort while in the house of the Lord.
This ministry not only represents Christ but also the Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church Family. Our scripture reference is Psalm 84:10, “For a day in your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold at the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
Everyone who enters into the House of the Lord is welcome.
"Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God," Romans 15:7
