Mission
The mission of the Hospitality/Kitchen Ministry is to offer the love of Christ to our guests and welcome them in such a way that they would be transform from strangers into friends.
The word hospitality literally means love of strangers and is found several times in the New Testament (Matthew 25:35-36, 40; Romans 12:13; 1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:8; 1 Peter 4:9).
Mission statement is simple: “To Serve Our Guests, Members, Family, and Friends.”
Purpose
The Hospitality/Kitchen Ministry purpose is to make every visitor, member, or guest feel they are special and belong here. Eliminate barriers to visitors coming to Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church. Decrease the stress, anxiety, and confusion for visitors. Create a positive attitude about the church with visitors and members. Encourage transformation from visitor to member. Support fellowship and community for ministry members.
The Hospitality/Kitchen Ministry is responsible for supporting all of the Church’s meetings, gatherings, and special events through the presentation of food. The ministry plans, purchases, prepares, and serves meals, as well as implements the set up and break down of area(s) of where meals are served. Meals may be served at many events including Bible Study, congregational meetings, Presbyterian gatherings, ministry meetings, etc. In addition, the members of this ministry often assemble themselves in special attire that is most befitting to the planned occasion.
